  • DOES LARREA NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE ACCEPT INSURANCE?
    Larrea Naturopathic Medicine operates as a cash-pay practice and does not accept insurance as a form of payment. Patients are required to pay the full appointment fee at the time of service. If you wish to use insurance, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage eligibility. We cannot guarantee reimbursement, nor do we provide support for reimbursement issues, as each insurance plan varies. We strongly recommend contacting your insurance company to fully understand your plan’s coverage and reimbursement process. How it works: After your visit and full payment, you may request a Superbill—a detailed receipt that includes the services provided, relevant codes, and the cost of the visit. You can then submit this Superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance policy, not by Larrea Naturopathic Medicine.

Larrea Naturopathic Medicine is a holistic medical clinic proudly serving the Tucson metro area, dedicated to providing exceptional, individualized health care. Dr. Kam Tecaya, a clinically trained Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD), is registered with the Arizona Board of Medical Practice and specializes in combining cutting-edge medical science with proven natural therapies. We’re thrilled to support your wellness journey with Dr. Tecaya. New patient appointments are typically scheduled 2 to 3 months in advance. However, if you have acute medical needs, please let us know, and we will make every effort to see you as soon as possible. TRANSPARENCY ABOUT SERVICES AND FEES Please note that as a naturopathic clinic, we do not accept or process insurance claims. We do, however, retain insurance information on file, as some laboratory tests may be eligible for coverage. OUR FEE STRUCTURE: New Patient Deposit: $100 (non-refundable, applied toward the first visit) Initial New Patient Consultation (90 min): $435 Standard Follow-Up (up to 30 min): $175 Extended Follow-Up (up to 45 min): $230 Comprehensive Follow-Up (up to 60 min): $310 Email Correspondence: Starting at $20 BOOKING PROCESS To confirm your appointment, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required, which will be credited to your new patient consultation fee. To confirm and complete your booking, kindly call our office. WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST NATUROPATHIC VISIT WITH DR. TECAYA Your first visit with Dr. Tecaya includes a comprehensive, multi-step process designed to thoroughly assess and address your unique health needs: PRE-VISIT PREPARATION In-Depth Health History Review (30 minutes): Dr. Tecaya reviews your completed health history forms. Case Preparation (30-60 minutes): Initial notes are organized, potential issues are outlined, and a preliminary list of questions, concerns, and possible labs is created. Lab/Imaging Review (15-30 minutes): Past lab results and imaging are reviewed and connected to your current symptoms. Health Connections: Early identification of patterns and connections is established for a "connect-the-dots" approach. NEW PATIENT VISIT(90 minutes) In-Depth Consultation: A detailed Q&A session focuses on the evolution of your health journey and timeline. Initial Treatment Plan: An outline of potential treatments and educational explanations are provided, setting the foundation for your healing process. FOLLOW-UP VISIT(30-60 minutes) Comprehensive Treatment Plan: Your personalized treatment plan is finalized and includes detailed written instructions, resources, and links. Supplement Recommendations: A curated list of supplements with links to an online dispensary. Custom Herbal Formulations: Created if necessary to support your treatment plan. Lab Orders: Bloodwork or functional testing is ordered as appropriate. Specialist Referrals: Provided if needed to support your healing journey. This initial process includes 3.5 to 4 (or more) hours of Dr. Tecaya’s dedicated time. Please note: If your past lab work is extensive, we may contact you to discuss booking additional time for Dr. Tecaya to conduct a thorough review. For most patients, 3-6 naturopathic visits are often needed to fully engage in their healing journey. We look forward to supporting your health journey!
  • CAN I USE MY HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT (HSA) OR FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA) TO PAY FOR VISIT, SUPPLEMENTS OR LABS?
    Yes! This is a very popular option among our patients; many have high-deductible plans with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or Flex Spending Accounts (FSAs). Those funds can be used for office visits, labs and supplements as their plans allow. It’s always best to check in advance with the administrator of your specific plan, but using HSA/FSA funds at Larrea Naturopathic Medicine has gone smoothly and quickly for our patients without exception for many years.
  • OFFICE HOURS
    Our office hours are: TUESDAY through FRIDAY 9am-4pm (CLOSED FOR LUNCH 12-1) *WE ARE CLOSED SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND MONDAY If you are going to stop by the office to pick up supplements, we ask that you kindly call/text 520-222-6208 prior to your visit (to ensure items are in stock).
  • PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
    Prescription Refill Instructions If you need a refill for a prescription that you usually pick up from a pharmacy, please contact your pharmacy directly and ask them to fax us a refill request. (Please note that many prescriptions come with 6-12 months of refills; check with your pharmacy to confirm whether this is the case.) For all refill requests, we kindly ask that you allow 7 days for our office to process and call in your prescription. Our fax number is 866-569-0546. Testosterone Prescriptions: By law, these require follow-up testing and a visit every 6 months. New Prescriptions: If you need a prescription that Dr. Tecaya has not previously provided, an appointment will be required. Important Notice Regarding Prescription Renewals Please be advised that we are unable to renew your prescription if required blood work and a follow-up visit have not been completed. Additionally, we cannot renew prescriptions over the phone if: Your medical condition or medications have changed We have not seen you in the past 3 to 6 months In these cases, please book an appointment to ensure we can provide the appropriate care for your needs. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us meet your prescription needs.
  • PAYMENT OPTIONS | POLICY
    Our office accepts cash, checks, and major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) for services. When scheduling your initial visit, a $100 deposit is required to secure your appointment. On the day of your appointment, charges for the remaining visit fee, any laboratory tests, and nutritional supplements will be itemized, with payment due at that time. For follow-up consultations (whether phone, video, or in-person), charges will be billed to the credit card on file unless you provide alternate payment information before the appointment. If additional lab tests are needed and test kits are sent, associated fees will be applied to your account. The credit card on file may also be used for follow-up appointments, lab fees, or supplements mailed, unless you specify otherwise.
  • APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION POLICY
    Dr. Tecaya dedicates significant time to preparing for each of your visits, and we reserve your appointment slot specifically for you. To help us accommodate other patients and ensure Dr. Tecaya has adequate preparation time, we kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations 24-48 hours before your visit: We reserve the right to charge 50% of the visit fee. Same-day cancellations or no-shows: May incur up to 100% of the visit fee, at Dr. Tecaya’s discretion. We understand that unexpected situations arise, and we will always take mitigating circumstances into consideration. If something prevents you from attending, please let us know so we can confirm your well-being. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
